ISUCL offers presentations/visits for K-12 Classes.  An ISUCL Staff Climatologist can make a classroom visit to any school to present weather related topics.  Included with the visit is a 'hands-on' experience where the students participate in atmospheric learning. 

The following is an outline of the presentation (based on education level):

• "Exploring the Skies Above Indiana" A basic presentation on the role of a Meteorologist/Climatologist/Broadcast Meteorologist in Indiana.
• Description of the ISUCL Daily Routine
• Severe Weather Awareness (seasonal)
• 'Hands-On' experience
• Teacher/Instructor specified topic of choice such as Climate Change, Tornadoes, Hurricanes, and many more.

 

ISUCL offers tours for K-12 Classes.  The tour of the facility is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate what an atmospheric laboratory does on a daily basis.  Included with the tour is a 'hands-on' experience where the students participate in atmospheric learning. 

The following is an outline of the tour (based on education level):

• Basic tour of the facility by an ISUCL Staff Observer
• Tour of the ISUCL/NWS Cooperative Weather Station
• Demonstration of the ISUCL Daily Routine
• Demonstration of Weather Instruments
• Severe Weather Awareness (seasonal)
• 'Hands-On' experience
• Teacher/Instructor specified topic of choice such as Climate Change, Tornadoes, Hurricanes, and many more.
